First race sort of...

So I was driving along at about 40-50km and a blue car streaks by, he must have been behind the car behind me. So before I floored it I noticed it was a Corvette and thought sure why not. By this time he was 2 car lengths in front and I was surprised that he wasn't pulling very hard from me. I flashed the lights to see if he would slow down and we could start on even ground, but he just went on. So I noticed a light up ahead was turning red and was hoping for the best since he wasn't killing me I might give him a good go, but no he ran the light and I never saw him again.
I'm certain it wasn't a Z06, don't know if anything other than exhaust was done to it, but I was wondering what an even race between 2 stock cars would be. Also I have the steptronic and was wondering if it makes a difference when you floor it in regular or sport mode. I was in regular.

is the break-in period even over yet? if not, I'm guessing this is your parent's car since it seems apparent you don't give a damn

You are technically right the car is not in my name. My parents bought my sister and me matching cars when we moved out.

Ahah - that explains the attitude.

Street racing is baaaadddd. That's my pious thought for the day. But even though I don't do it anymore, I can't say I didn't set up some runs with friends out in deserted roads in wine country (St Catharines) back when I was in university. Its just not the sort of stuff I do anymore. Take it to the track.

Btw - has anyone here heard of Raven performance / Raven days? Two of my buddy's did a few raven days last year which is just lapping really (with instruction) - they seemed to really enjoy it so I'm considering it late this year or next year. Anyone use a different instructor for racing / or anyone race on the track here?

I don't know what you mean by attitude, if you are implying that I'm a rich stuck up son than you are completely wrong. I personally don't need or work because of were my family has got itself, but I do volunteer most of my time to senior homes and the likes.

I guess I posted this in the wrong place, I have read numerous posts about racing, one even had his mom in the car and they did get attacked like this.

Can a moderator delete this thread.

In fairness, as I recall those threads, those were posted by Americans (who btw also do not have the same laws we do unfortunately)...but there were posters in that thread who criticized the OP.

My suggestion is just keep any such stories within your peer group should they happen - don't post online...people will get you and rightfully so. Though for the record I am against racing, as I said before - take it to the track. Track stories are more than welcome here btw, if you have any of those you wish to share please feel free!
