The 2007-2008 TPMS for both E92 and E90 are different from the 2009+ TPMS. I know you mentioned pre-LCI but just wanted to throw this out there since the years for when the E92 and E90 went LCI are different.

even if its not oem, does the car know it is aftermarket or does TPMS computer recognize it the same?

I ran the one I replaced for about four months before selling the car and had no problems. No codes, no check engine, no service soon.
