Looking for PNP Amp replacement
Hi all,
I'm looking to upgrade the audio in my e92 and I am torn between two options 1) upgrade the amp to a xd600/6 or ms-8 2) upgrade HU to Eonon (this won't improve sound quality from what I hear, but will increase functionality) The xd600/6 is discontinued and very expensive - althought I've seen some factory refurbs recently for $400 which is very tempting. I have been searching craigslist recently and found this - https://boston.craigslist.org/gbs/el...517640752.html which appears to be a 6 channel amp that accepts balanced inputs. Does anyone know if this will be an easy replacement using Technic's harness? Any suggestions for cheaper alternatives to the xd600/6? In my e36 I had a used MTX Blue Thunder that was a beast of an upgrade compared to the shite stock amp. I still have it - but I don't think it accepts balanced inputs. |

xd is still made its just called version 2 or 3 and has signal sensing now.
The helix amp/dsp are pretty popular but even more expensive than just an amp alone they come in 8 channel and 6 channel. |

I watched a youtube video today of a before/after test using the xd600/6 and even in the video recording on a phone I could hear a massive different in individual track quality |

My local audio shop suggested that I use a 4 channel amp and leave the rear speakers in the factory amp. I presume this means cutting wires - so what about buying a 4 channel amp, using Technic's harness, and dropping the rear speakers all together?

You also have the option of using multiple amps to run all six channels. You could run: 3x 2-channel amps 2x 4-channel amp with one bridged to run the woofers a 4-channel with a 2-channel amp etc. You get the idea. Rockford Punch and Power-series amps have differential balanced inputs as well. |

Just buy the technic hi fi harness no cutting needed
everything is lableed. You need a power wire kit to. Don't let anybody cut into your harness. If you do the 4 channel fronts only you might want to route the rears to the underseats that way you can use the fader as a balance between the floors and doors. |

I'm thinking about waiting for this amp. Any thoughts based on the spec sheet? |
