Fair price for a used e90? There aren't any KBB values yet...

Hey all,

Looking to purchase either an 06 330i or 325i, depending on what I can get for my current car. What should I expect to pay (relative to invoice) for one of these with 5-6k miles on it? Under invoice? Anyone have any experience with this?

hey buddy- i actually asked my CA this a little while ago and this is what she emailed me with-

"I talked to my Used Car Mgr. today about the 2006 325i. He gave me a
general rule that Dealers will go by when it is a brand new car and
there is
no Kelly BlueBook Guide on it yet. Take the Invoice less 20%."

so invoice minus 20% is what you would get if you were to trade in the car back to the dealership. i hope this gives you a general idea. maybe.lol.

bout 4K. if you were going to buy it privately take a lower percentage minus invoice into consideration becasue the scenario above was if the dealer bought it back from you. dealers tend to jip you a bit in terms of your car value.

I dont know if this helps, but I just bought a demo for $2500 off of sticker ($43700). I was looking at used and there werent that many 2006's out there. I have seen a 330i with 6k miles here in Texas for $39999.

Whoa youre confusing me...are you saying that I should take 20% off of invoice only if I am trading my CTS? Thats a hard way to negotiate that, because the dealer will simply cut the value of my trade to get me to that number. Let's just talk straight out cash purchase; what percentage should I plan on taking off invoice if I were to just buy the car with cash?

For instance, I'm looking at an 06' 325i with 6800 miles, manual, sport pkg. They have it stickered at 32,900. This is just below the invoice of 33,600. If I apply youre twenty percent rule, I would offer $26,880? That doesn't seem reasonable? Any clarification?

my bad bro, i was re-readin my posts too and i got al ittle confused as to what i was trying to say.

the purpose of my email to the delaer was for what price would be offered for the trade in of a new car with out a KBB value. they said that would be 20% minus invoice. so with your numbers this would make the 26,880 the price they would give you. we all know dealers will jip you out of your money. so if i were you i would offer about 10% under invoice and work from there so that would be around the 30K-31K.

hope that clarrifies things.

I'm curious about why you want to unload your CTS (2006?) Do you have the 3.5?
