Replacing E90 BMW Professional Radio
Do I need to program or code when I replace the BMW Professional Radio? Is this possible with the BT tool? If I get the exact part number do I still need to program or code to make it work?

Most likely yes, unless you get one from a car that was
optioned exactly the same. Serial number does not make a difference. It may indicate a Revision or different Hardware and firmware revisons. You need a coding setup and may need a and ICOM cable in cars built after 3/07 What's a Bluetooth tool many aftermarket diags use bluetooth dongles. If you are replacing it because of the display there are kits for doing that on ebay. |

Go to the coding board here and look for the Bimmergeeks threads.
As I pointed out you may not be able to program it without and ICOM Cable which is expensive. You might want to look for a coder that has that cable localy or get the bimmertech service for recoding. After 3/07 buid a D/K Can cable wasn't enough to program radio and idrive functions, it requires and ICOM cable. |
