WTB: Stealth E90 Methanol Tank
I originally thought the windshield washer tank was a great idea, but after reading more, I realize it's not such a good idea. It's too risky for me. I'm looking for one like the photo below. Advan in Australia used to make one, but no one seems to have them now, including Advan. If someone wants to get rid of one or knows where I can find one, please let me know. Thanks, Kaz Last edited by Kaz26; 03-30-2018 at 09:37 PM.. |

Not quite $900, but ya, they were pricey. I'm starting to try and figure out a way to make a mold and cast a tank for that space. Alternatively, I might try and fabricate on for myself out of stainless sheet metal. I'd do it like I used to make speaker boxes. First make a template version, then tac-weld it to fit and then lay down some nice thick TIG welds. Depending on how much effort is involved, I might consider going into production and sell them here
I'm curious how much interest there would be at various price points. Anyone with a metal shop here who is willing to fab these based on a template? If so, what would be the cost? |

There are also metallic based 3D printers, they fuse metal or alloy particles with a bonding agent. Saw some really cool and intricate key chains, felt like cast pieces. Of course, verifying that the bonding agent is Meth proof... |

I like the design and it's a fair price considering the time and effort that goes into this. I am sure these will sell quite well on here, but the timing is not currently ideal for me. I wouldn't have the time to install it. I'm curious if 3.5 liters is the max capacity you can make for one of these? At close to a gallon, it will last most of us a few weeks without having to refill, however bigger would be better in this case. 5 liters would be great.

Bring the stealth tank back to life!
Hey All,
Including me there seems to be at least 3-5 people that are interested in this stealth tank. MILLER335I and I were chatting and it seems we have 2 leads that may be able to help us produce these for a reasonable cost, maybe $400-450 or less if we have more people. The tanks could come coated with a protective epoxy layer for corrosion resistance, and fit in the 'secret' compartment like BMS does for the F-series. If anyone is still interested, please reply to this post so MILLER335I and I can contact the 2 leads and make this happen. More people = cheaper |
