For all of you "youngsters" that would like to see video from a pretty interesting school many years ago, here is a U-Tube post of the 1989 BMW CCA San Diego Chapter school at the Shangri La airfield at Holtville (near El Centro.)

Jay Jones was the Driving Event Director for that school, which had two miles of cones wrapping all around that old airstrip. We went down ahead of time (Dan Tackett, etc.) to patch concrete, mow the weeds out from between the cracks in the cement, etc.

After setting up all of the cones... the US Marines landed that night with helicopters and blew down one entire runway... about 3/4 of a mile of cones in the bushes.

The C-130 is the British Royal Air Force, who were a load of fun and took us up for a joy ride in their plane. I shot most all of the in plane video, including the skydivers (I was hooked on a cable with a big leather belt on the back door at 10,000 feet.) I was also in the windshield in the flight engineer's seat when we went over the heads of the poor suckers standing on the ground. (I was a poor sucker earlier in the event.)

Needless to say, not a soul EVER forgot that event!

Great video!!! Love the e30 M3 w/ the tricolor paint.

Man....that pilot had some balls! He couldnt have been more than 15-20 feet off the ground.....passing over cars and people!
