Best exhaust setup
I'm currently running an afe catless dp w/ resonator tube and the Active Autowerke catback exhaust on my car but I'm not too happy with how it sounds. It's quite as deep as I would prefer.
Any recommendations on how to make the note deeper? |

A set of resonators should do it if you're ok making the exhaust a little quieter

I had a VRSF catless DP and a VRSF DP-back exhaust for a bit and it was really deep. I actually ended up selling it and getting the PE mod done because I thought it was a little generic and boring for my taste. Though, if you are looking for a deep sounding setup for a N55, thats probably the best youre going to get.

I'm currently running a FBO setup on my N55 with a muffler delete plus MHD Stage 2+ with burble tune on and it sounds sick. Cold start up might possibly wake up neighbors from blocks away lol and drone is moderate if you can deal with that.

Seems like I might just have to go with a muffler delete and sell my exhaust then lol

If you do not mind the quad look, REMUS race sounds the best.

Is the PE mod the oem bmw performance exhaust mod? How would one go about doing that and what does it consist of just the PE muffler?

I always get compliments with my Vanguard V2 exhaust with VRSF catless dp. Might be too loud for some people especially when I have the MHD burble tune set to soft. Without the burble tune, the exhaust still sounds good. I'm not a fan of quad tips (only looks good on an e9x m3). So the look of the dual polished tips and mufflers is perfect for me on my alpine white e92.

PE mod is best bang for buck. I have that paired to my vrsf catless downpipe and it sounds great with minimal drone

VRSF catless DP and PE exhaust and no drone at all. I have a RWD E90 so no resonator as well. Very happy with this set up

I'm currently Catless DP with muffler delete and MHD Stage 2 with burble set to aggressive. Luckily my neighbors are very far away. The cold start is insanely loud, the drone is pretty loud as well. I don't drive a whole lot but my first car had tons of drone as well. The drone doesn't bother me but sometimes on long drives it is quite annoying. I have considered resonators but I'm not quite sure.
Hope this helps.
