Anyone ever seen anything like this before? Bottomed out and broke my jack point
This sounds retarded, but I somehow bottomed out today and have no idea how. I went to pick my car up at the garage (just had water pump replaced)..
It was in a gravel lot, I went out which I assumed was the exit ramp of the driveway ... and bottomed out BAD ... I figured I went over the curb, and I still might have gone over the curb, however the jack point that got fucked up was on my driver side, and the passenger side would have been the side going over the curb .. so maybe I hit a huge sinkhole? I have no idea. Either way I cracked my side skirt on the bottom, and tore up some of the protective covering underneath the car. I went to look in more detail tonight and my whole jackpoint is just toasted. Here are pics... Anyone ever seen this before? I guess I just have to buy a new jack point? Do they just pop in? |

Yep I took a speed bump at 23.7 mph instead of 23.5 mph and managed to knock mine off. Buy some Rein replacements, they're cheap and easy to install. They do just pop in, the outer plastic legs act as clips. You may need to use some oomph with a hammer or a long screwdriver to remove the old units.

I noticed they looked way too tall at first, until i installed them. Once they're on the car they're sort of recessed by the undercarriage protection.
