Does deleting secondary cats cause CEL? Can I pass emissions testing?

I have a LCI 328i. Currently has a rogue ikon axle back exhaust on it. Sounds great but i'm looking for a little more growl and noise but not too ricey.

I was gonna delete the resonator but the shop wanted $222 so I told them to piss off. Also alot of people on here seem to say resonator delete causes droning. So now i'm looking into doing a secondary cat delete.

Does secondary cat delete cause a CEL? Can I pass NYS OBD2 emissions testing?

FYi side note but your 328i has SULEV warranty which is honored in tri-state (along with few other). Not sure if that’s valuable to you or not but I could see a dealer giving you a hard time if you ever wanted to make a claim and your secondaries were deleted.

I just got some free work done few months ago which was pretty nice considering it’s mileage.

Damn, I totally forgot about that aspect. I do have the N51 so I have the SULEV warranty. Just waiting for my VCG to leak to take advantage of the warranty.

Me too! But I really want MILVs. I may skip this one on the SULEV warranty and do it myself.
