Spraying "Magic Spray " in your Intercooler

i was wondering if anyone tried spraying ice cold "magic soccer spray" on your FMIC in between runs to keep it cool ??? i believe its a mixture of ethyl chloride and water to make it ice like when you spray it...

Never thought of that, I definitely would try it if it was easy to obtain.

there is a bunch of different ones on amazon... i know its unbearably cold on your skin.. i think it might do wonders for an intercooler... i dont think it can damage an intercooler just by spraying it... if its ok on your skin should be fine on an intercooler

Think this would be a little more refined, plus it's a universal kit

my chemistry is a little rusty...won't the chloride from the ethly break off when it comes in contact from water to form hydrogen chloride or hydrochloric acid?

IMO, the more I research the more I think spray would probably be negligible however its more of a "cool" feature . What stirs my curiosity and cheaper for daily use would be to route the windshield washers to the intercooler. I don't use my windshield washers so this would be a good option for me. Plus their wouldn't be any extra switches or buttons in the car for a stealth clean look.

Some Subaru STIs came with intercooler spray setups from the factory. You push a button, and water from a tank in the trunk is sprayed on the top-mounted intercooler.

Yea, it just sprays windshield washer fluid, which is about 25-35% methanol the rest is water. (negligible difference) .

If anyone really needs this sort of quick fix, just get a bottle of nitrous and spray it on the intercooler. There is also the C02 sprayers as someone else mentioned.

One of the issues with CO2 sprayers is making sure you're not ingesting the CO2 through your air filters. It's a neat concept and has some potential but most of the time if you just end up doing a water/meth injection system you'll get better results.

Just run a pump to an atomizer spraying the surface of the intercooler, safer, much easier, and you'll still obtain the cooling effect you're looking for.
