can't play MP3 CDs? need help debugging
hi guys, i have an '08 328i sedan with the base model radio
i get a CD error when i put a MP3 CD in..it just don't play i know from this thread http://www.e90post.com/forums/showth...&highlight=mp3 there are ongoing issues with MP3 playback in the '08 cars, but my problem seems to be different. Is there anything i need to be aware of (file formats, file name, folder structure, etc) that could be causing this issue? i verified the CD is playable on another car equipped with a MP3 player (a dodge avenger rental car!) any help would be appreciated! |

I have the same problem. I've tried different CDs and burners. Work just fine on my PC.

I have only made/tried one in mine so far and it works great. I just put all of them in the root (main) directory. Are yours in sub-folders? W(that might be screwing it up.) What program are you using to burn them?

The one that I made that works is a Memorex, but I would assume they use different suppliers from time to time. Do original music CD's work? I would try a few different brands and if that does not work then go to the dealer and challenge them to put one in that works and if not then have them replace the unit.

didnt feel like reading that other post but have you considered the bit rate. i could have sworn i heard something along time ago with problems with bit rates over 192 or something.

not in my case. I usually have most of my mp3's in 320kbps and works just fine. Haven't ran any issues at all with CD-RW's or regular CD's.
