Should Expertmode coding with new datens change values in FSW_PSW.TRC?

So there's another thread about my attempts to code my CIC to hifi, but separate to that, I seem to have managed to change a massive amount of values coding my car, across many modules, that I wasn't expecting?

I added $676 to my VO and (after further reading I know it's not recommended) in Expertmode (no blank MAN file) used Process Car > Code Car, as looking at my all-module 230kb FSW_PSW.TRC I could see many mentions of e92_stereo that weren't in the CIC module, and thought I should code those as well.

Afterwards I did a comparison of the new 230kb FSW_PSW.TRC and the one I saved the first time I used my K+DCAN, and although it seems to have replaced all of the e92_stereo and similar with hifi equivalents as expected, it's also changed many, many other variables that don't seem to have anything to do with audio. Here's a before and after list of changed variables:

https://docs.google.com/file/d/0BwgA...letype=msexcel

My question is, could it be because I have v60 sp-daten on my laptop, and it's just updated other variables to basically the latest standard? And having not actually updated any of the modules to a newer software version using winkfp before doing this, is this going to fuck anything up? Everything is working fine except for the hifi coding which seems to have done nothing to my sound, so I wanted to code back to stock to compare the sound again, but now have no idea how to do this!

Delete $676 from your VO and reverse any other changes you made to your VO and default code the same modules you did with the new VO with the original VO. Should bring you back to your starting point.

Cheers, will give this a go, and fully expect it to roll back all the hifi coding to stereo - what I wasn't sure is has NCS Expert used the daten on my PC (much newer than the one around when my car was built) to update stuff not related to my VO change when I hit "Code Car".

No it hasn't. The only way the updated Daten will change anything is if you use it to update your modules via WinKFP. Now if the car had been to the dealer and was updated to a new I-level then the old daten would no longer work and you'd need to use at least the same or higher level as the dealer used.

NCS Expert won't change anything on its own without external manipulation by either coding or VO changes. It will always default code to whatever the VO tells it. Factory VO, factory settings. You can use NCS Dummy to add custom parameters and values but that's another story.

Got it, so the fact that using Code Car after adding $676 to my VO changed 315 different parameters is to be expected? I was just confused as a lot of the changes didn't seem to make sense or be related to what I was trying to achieve, for example "FH_PARAMETER_12_3R" was updated from "e92" to "e93", and "MAX_HEIZZEIT" went from "wert_01" to "wert_07".

I really don't know why so many changes are there. In the future I'd just stick to default coding only the modules needed instead of process the whole car. Is there a particular module or two where the majority of changes occurred?

At this point I take it you want to put your car back to the original state. If the changes are confined to a handful of modules, I'd just change the VO back and default code just the affected modules. The google docs link doesn't work so I can't see for myself.

Stupid link, try this one:

https://docs.google.com/file/d/0BwgA...letype=msexcel

I’ll default code back after removing $676, I guess I’ll just have to code each module one by one and check the end result. But yeah have a look at that list, the simple adding of $676 and using Code Car has changed shit loads of stuff!

I’m not sure where the changes have occurred as the full-module TRC doesn’t tell you which module each parameter is from. And I used Code Car in the first place as I could see a lot of mentions of e92_stereo in that full-module TRC (the 220kn one) but couldn’t work out what module they were in!
