I'm having trouble understanding this... the OEM E92 CF trim is $1,900 from Tischer. Vorsteiner took OEM plastic pieces and put CF on it and their equivalent pieces cost ~$3,600?
What's the point here, am I missing something? (serious question, I have several Vorsteiner parts on my car I'm not hating) ![]() |

The two products that you're comparing are apples and oranges. The OE E9x M3 kit is carbon fiber leather (without a laquer-type finish) and doesn't include the center console. The Vorst kit is high-gloss kit and includes the center console.
All of that said... Yes, like all vorsteiner products, it is overpriced for what it is. Look at EAS' kit for a competitive product. Edit: Just reread your post and realize that you'd posted the non-OE M3 carbon fiber kit. My bad. But the bottom line is still that vorsteiner is $$$ BMW OE is $$ and EAS is $. |

And also, BMW has an OEM gloss CF trim too for much cheaper than the Carbon leather trim. I saw it somewhere on the Tischer website.

So thats how much Vorsteiners interior trim costs? $3600? Thats the price of DPE rims. They must be out of their mind. Whatever. Only a fool would buy that.

Seems someone was right about pricing being ~ $3,000! I don't get it, the CF trim is more $$$ then their hood, and trunk combined!( I think)

Vorsteiner is certainly not the price leader but for good reason. All of their carbon fiber is formed using dry vacuum manufacturing meaning the quality and strength of the weave is far superior to what you get from a wet lay kit. There are definitely cheaper alternatives out there but you risk the issue of fitment and yellowing overtime as the resin is not adhered as securely as with dry vacuum form technology.

The OE one is not real CF ![]() Vorsteiner had 3 options.... I know this from EXPERIENCE: -Overlay OEM with CF, and do it right, otherwise it won't fit properly (expensive, but perfect quality) -Make ABS injection molds of each part... est. investment about $100K + -Make fiberglass molds and have parts that don't fit perfectly, like the stuff we USED to sell for the E46, but had to ditch because of problems. Which option would you have chosen? |

I know what you are saying....I think they miss the mark sometimes on development of new products. I really like what they make, but at times you realize...what the heck were they thinking?! LOL!
Kinda like the original E92 CF rear diffusor ![]()

Exactly. I love Vorsteiner's products, just confused about this one. Doesn't seem like a necessarily sound business choice, but hey I'm just some guy that knows nothing about actual product production.

Vorsteiner is trippin. But its ok because only a idiot would buy it at that ridiculous price so its bound to drop down. The question is how much it will drop down.
I know a guy that used to do the exact same thing Vorsteiner did. Get OEM trim and overlay it with carbon fiber. Sure its not dry carbon but the trim fitment was obviously perfect since its overlayed on OEM and the clear coat never yellowed. I remember him selling it for E90's for around 5....600 for the set. And he also sold them for the e46. if only i could convince him to make it for the e92's ![]() A lot of people would have bought the vorsteiner one to save some money because OEM was way too expensive, but who would want vorsteiners trim now if its $1000 more then OEM. I sound like a Vorsteiner hater but in actuality my whole car is vorsteiner lol. They royally fucked up this time. |

Right, it's an overlay just like the vorsteiner, except its an OEM piece which is guaranteed by the manufacture for a few grand cheaper.
