I haven't owned a car in two years at all. I apparently don't want one.

I crossed over to BMW in 2001 and haven't looked back.

Own three. But haven't been excited about anything recent. Except for the M2.
Current lineup - e90 335d, e83 X3, e30 M3 Test drove several well appointed f30s. Liked the newer interior and tech, but driver feel was numbing compared to even my e90. |

Nope, sold my 335 long ago for a C6 Vette. Since moved on from that to many other cars too. Going to be looking for a new toy soon. Will give the M4 a drive to see what I think. If the F10 M5 & F80 M3 didn't look so boring, I'd be more interested in those.

Why M2? M4 is much faster & around same price used vs used.

I didn't leave BMW, BMW left me.
Maybe its a little of both. A few years ago BMW would be the first brand I would consider, now BMW barely interests me. The M2 is cool, I like the M4 but I don't wouldn't/didn't buy one. I may look at the X7 when its time to replace the wifes escalade (another vehicle that doesn't particularly excite me). |

Yeah. I would never admit buying a merc. I'd rather have a Citroën. Or walk. As I do now.

BMW has become a marketing company - and the resale values prove it. A recent survey someone posted showed the 5 year maintenance cost of a bmw was 40% higher than the next marque! I thought about buying an M2, but their resale is no better, and bmw now has some bespoke versions that will also kill the M2 market.

This was sort of mentioned earlier, my drives a 428 GC that I go out of my way not to drive if I can help it. I traded my M4 in for a GT350, but I'm trying to talk the wife into a M550 or M5 that I would drive. So how should I vote?
Also, I'm curious as to what the next gen M3/4 will bring as well. |
