Nokia N95 pairing :(
Bluetooth setup in the Beemer has paired OK with the N95...but no contacts visible and all calls come through as ****...
A bit poor for whats s'posed to be an all singing and dancing up to date piece of kit, when my old SE800i used to work perfectly... Did a search and have found a couple of downloads recommended that are supposed to solve the problem.....but dont...anyone been more successful??? Might have to swap back to the Blackberry option after all..!!!

I have the same problem with my N95. The phone has been upgraded with the newest software, but not. My old Sony Ericsson K750 was a star compared to my slow N95....
As soon as the iPhone 3G is available in stores here i Norway, I will throw away my Nokia! |

Hi
I have been reliably informed by a friend in the mobile phone business that Nokia N and E series phones will not work fully (ie transfer contacts etc) with the BMW OE bluetooth kit, and seemingly this is not just BMW, some other car manufactureres as well. If we want to keep using our N or E series phones just have to put up with seeing numbers on the display rather than names and use the phone for looking up contacts etc. It is dissappointing when a £100 parrot or something would work perfectly and our £500 option wont work perfectly! None of the N-series phones work. I conveniently have a second phone that does work so i'm not as peeved as you guys must be. Perhaps its just me, but my recent calls from the car are saved when I use the N95, so if you call the same people all the time, sending a few calls should save those to i-drive

I will be changing my phone is October, I was thinking of changing it for either a Blackberry or a Nokia N95.
So I won’t be getting a Nokia then. I need to have either Blackberry type of Windows mobile functionality. Can anyone recommend a phone that does work fully?

From my experience, all of Sony Ericssons phones work, all of Motorolas phones work, non symbian S60-3 nokia phones work, all of HTCs phones work. HTC uses windows mobile, so if it works, anything windows mobile should work. I'm looking to pick up an HTC Touch Pro when it's released.

I managed to get contacts permanently stored on the radio - its not ideal as they dont update but its better than nothing. |

I have a BlackBerry Pearl 8100 which works perfectly with the OEM BlueTooth kit, all contacts available, A-Z, top 8 and so-on, along with voice command.

CB - see my answer posted the same time as yours - yes, the BB 8100 certainly works 100% so I assume the 8110 will work too. If you have one there, can't you just try it?

On the phone I was using at time allowed me to select a contact and 'send via bluetooth' (or even select the addressbook and send all contacts via bluetooth). I picked the BMW and sent them.

If you download the app that is designed for Nokias 610 car kit and install that on your N series phone the contacts works.
I have been using an N95 8GB for a few weeks and got it working straight away. Go to here..... http://europe.nokia.com/A4160018 Download the app.... Quote:
Go to the app and choose options, there is one there to start the app running automatically, select yes. Now delete you phone from the car. Make sure the app you downloaded is running and pair the phone again. It may take a few minutes, but it will transfer your contacts, and with it set to auto it will update them too as you add them to your phone. Your more than welcome and I will be here all week to help!! |

So, just to be clear.... Set app to run automatically Go to car and delete phone from b/tooth list Start app Then go through BT pairing procedure again (with app running in background presumably?)... and sit with fingers crossed...??

Indeed! But thanks are still due!! Fruitless searching elsewhere produced nothing except a lot of people being aware of the problem!!
