Replaced TCU can't be coded
Hello, this is my first post and I want to appologize if this issue was disscused before, but I can't find a solution to my problem.
I bought a car which has a replaced TCU, but I can't acces it to configure bluetooth. I get the errors: -in ISTA+: "No communication possible with: Telephone Control Unit" -in INPA I can't find the module (from ISTA+ it has 0x36 address, but I can't find it in the module list for that address) -in NCS Expert I get "Ecu does not answer" error when I try to read TCUM The thing is that I think the TCU is functional, because when I connect it the fiber light starts from the TCU. Is there anything that I can do? (I'm sorry if is a silly question but I'm not very advanced, actually is my first bmw). |

Is the mulf still in the fiber loop? All the components in the loop need to be functioning to communicate with any of them. Do you have i-drive? If so a combox retrofit may be the easiest fix for everything.

Inpa as well, i don't see the TCU and his address on your Pic N°3. If you have an ICOM, use the Most_async connnection way and refire up Inpa, if you see the TCU, then it 's definitvely a Can wire(s) problem, where ? if you can ask the previous owner ... to not waste your time ! good luck. PS: DSC and PDC are also gameover (can't see the third in the pic), so security risk also (Dsc). Last edited by Pierre26; 05-23-2018 at 12:02 AM.. |

I get also no communication with PDC and DSC, but my PDC functionality is working, is showing the right distance on the screen. Can I deactivate the pins from the MULF so there will not be open MOST circuit? Or should I just remove the wires for MULF?

Did you set the latency to 0 in the USB port settings of Windows? If left at default, some modules won't communicate. This could make your problem look worse than it is.

What i would first do is powering the Mullf (+verifying that 12V and ground are ok on your plug) then see if the light is sorting out of one of the 2 optical Mulf. If you want to test Ista correctly, you will need to shunt the optical fiber between TCU-Mulf to have the ring closed. The can problem is another one as there is no can wire for Mulf. (But probably for TCU, don't verified that), sure for Combox Telematic only. Don't think the latency time is a problem but you can verify in your driver parameter, short to do that. |

PDC and DSC are different beasts and that may mean that you have problem with wiring or module somewhere for example sunroof drains are clogged and water damaged some module and it produce noise on CAN bus
