Going with coilover soon, what rims spec should i get if i want to go 20"?

Hi all,

I seriously don't know how to do start the search. The bunch of questions seems overwhelming so I want to get a head start here first.

1. Assuming I would like to drop my xi, and I am pretty sure coilover is the way to go, which brand would be better if I also want to put 20" rims on?

I'm leaning toward H & R coilover now.

2. What spec should be safe for a 20" rims if I will also drop my car? (so that it will prevent the tires from rubbing)

Can anyone with the experience chime in please?

Whats great about our cars is that often you can run some pretty decent sized wheels (19-20's) without any rubbing issues. Chances are if you're getting some decent coilovers they should be adjustable so with some fender rolling you can run an array of aggressive setups and go even bigger (easily 20+) to your hearts content. Goodluck make sure your coilovers are fully or partially adjustable

it seems to me H & R is a fine choice. It allows for height adjustment so it should be fine i guess. What worries me is the damper / chamber settings that need to be tuned.

This is my very first time lowering a car so i am not very familiar with all these settings and such. I understand that KW will allow for damper / Chamber settings. What about H & R coilover?

Second thing I am worry about is the offset and the detail spec of the rims, What should i run?
- ET30?
- staggered set up?
- Tire with?
- Which tire to go for?

most of the guys here, myself included are running 235/35's up front and between 265 and 275/30 in the rear. Different rims have different offsets and some will clear and some will not. You should definetly do your homework so that your happy with your very expensive purchase.

so assuming that I go with the common setting such as 275/30 in the back and 235/35 on the front, then there shouldn't be much problem with either suspension right?
