upgrading audio in a 335i

Hey guys I did some searching but was not able to find enough info..So I wanted to do some basic upgrades on my system without changing the stock stereo..the car has the basic stero system not logic 7? (i think) wanted to get a little more bass using the stock locations, I was driving a x3 as a loaner and the system sounded perfect so if any of you guys out there who have done this any help would be nice as my car has no speakers in the back but dose have the tweeters and front door speakers...and I think it has the speakers under the seats....so any suggestions from the guru's would be appreaciated thankyou...

Just search a bit more. There is a ton of stuff around. If you just want more bass hook up an amp and run SWS-8s instead of the stock subs. There are a ton of recent posts on how to do this, VERY easy. You could even just add a little power to the existing subs and get more bass, if that is all you are looking for.

There is a thread that showed someone hooking up an MTX amp just recently I woudld search for that.

Garage List
if you drive a 2007 or 2008 BMW 335i here in the US, your car has the Logic 7 sound system. if not, then there is something wrong with your car. do you know how you can tell if your car has Logic 7?

if not, just look on your dashboard. in the middle of your dashboard should be a speaker. if it has this speaker, then your car has Logic 7.

Logic 7 or no, the setup to get more bass is similar. You have to use the sub outputs off the amp and then pass those to an amp and from the amp back to the subs. That alone will make a huge difference, swap your existing subs for SWS-8 will make all the difference in the world bass wise. All easy to do.

But just a quick question before you go through getting amps and subs and all that, have you tried to change the EQ setting on your logic 7? I ask because if you did not know you had logic 7 then you probably don't know that you can set the eq to increase your bass etc.

I would recommend you eq it a bit first and if after messing with the eq you don't like it then go get the amp, subs etc.

Yea just did it this morning...I know I sound retarded..I actually have done alot with car stereos...my last setup was in my old car had a kicker sx650.1 with dsp connected to an L7 12 and had and alpine 5 channel running all the inside speakers and the kick panels..It was loud as hell..but not looking to make all those modifications and such to this ride just a bit more thump...

Well, if eqing didn't do it then swapping the subs out and putting in an amp should. Good luck!
