Giving in

I'm throwing in the towel. I've got an e82 and I need to change the VO and possibly flash the DME. I'd feel 100% confident in the coding process if I could have the same confidence that my software was installed correctly. I've spent a month trying to get a stable copy of Standard Tools up and running and I guess my Windows prowess just isn't there. I have a win7 32 bit laptop that is supposed to be dedicated to coding. I've also tried with my win10 64 bit laptop.

I've attempted installs from multiple sources, most recently the "e90post" thread from a couple of years ago. No apparent problems with the downloads or daten imports or driver updates. I've done my best to look for potential problems, like the "empty folders" issue and the EDIABAS.ini settings. I was able to use my win7 laptop to code my e46, and I'm aware enough to have purchased a new cable for the e82 project. The new cable has a switch installed, verified by meter to open/close pins 7&8, and it at least appears legit. I'm using the -OBD, USB, INPA, ignition on- sequence. INPA cable/ignition dots are inconsistent or make no sense. IFH 0009 from every control unit (no communication).

I'm looking for some help. Whether it be a teamviewer session to help me get the software up, or a long, tedious series of PMs, or ideally, if someone within driving distance of Baltimore wants to help a brother out over maybe a pizza and a six pack... whatever. Also, I'm aware this is the e90 crowd, but its all the same and I'm looking for hits. Thanks for hearing me out.
