Are you good at detailing? Did you ever use Zaino? If yes to both, it's easy. Pick your poison, it's like synthetic motor oil, they're probably all the same base.

Seems awfully expensive for my cheap self. I just wax 5 times/yr and leave it at that.

its easy. id recommend the optimum gloss coat. I've used it and the cquartz and i think its easier to apply.

definitely do not pay someone to do it.

I've done both CQuartz UK and Adam's Ceramic. Highly recommend doing the ceramic coating. For me it's a game changer and I actually really like detailing, so I never minded waxing 4 times/year.

I'm still a glutton for punishment and slather on a layer of Dodo Juice over my Optimum sealant. I know it burns off in about half an hour of Texas sun, but it still adds a lot of depth that the sealant just doesn't have on it's own.

You can get a cquarts for like $85 per bottle..that should last for couple years, you’re probably spend the same on wax

Don't forget that much of the cost and time comes from prepping and correcting the car. You are essentially locking in any imperfections with a coating and unless the paint is pristine, you are memorializing any issues that exist on the paint. If you are not willing to completely do a full paint correction, then the ceramic coating is a time machine displaying the cars imperfections.

Because the car is new it does not matter, as they arrive at your dealer after a train ride, sitting on docks and boats, another truck ride and then welcomed at the dealership with a dirty rag wipe down.

I can't speak for others, but this is common sense to me.

Hmmm now I'm interested.

But I spend way less on wax. It's like $10 for the Meguiar's Gold and it lasts 2-3 yrs.

I highly recommend ceramic coating. Aside from the obvious benefits, it's just easier maintenance during your regular washes and adds depth to your paint that you don't really get with wax.

Whether he sells a wax product or not, his assessment is dead balls accurate. He even implied that if he were doing this on a brand new daily driven car he’d go ceramic coating.

Unlike a lot of the misleading ceramic coat detailer and manufacturers that makes ceramic coating sound like the greatest product ever and has absolutely zero drawbacks, this guy is brutally honest.

Based on my understanding, this video is about as honest as it gets. And that’s saying something.

A local top shop near me starts at $795 with 2-year warranty and goes way up beyond that. The paint correction (which is required even for brand new cars) is the bulk of the work.
