E90 Angel Eye Upgrade

So my driver side angel eye burnt out. I had lux for about 7 years now.

Any better options for a 2006 e90? I liked them but felt like they were never that bright as I wanted them to be.

Thanks guys

Lux is pretty much the best. The design of the rings themselves is mostly to blame for it not being super bright.

If you want brighter, your next option is to do a AE retrofit, or replace the whole housing with some aftermarket option.

If you have xenons, I wouldn't bother with aftermarket.

the newer LUX E90 V7 angel eyes are much brighter than the ones you had in there. LED Technology has changed a lot of so the new lights will be brighter. As mentioned above, the next option is a full aftermarket setup which will be much more complicated.

Did you increase the brightness through coding? My V7's do not even look as bright as your old versions. I just installed them today, brand new. Very disappointed with how they came out.

Coding does not impact the pre-LCI E90 sedans since they are always at full power. Pictures can look very different depending on lighting conditions as well, so if the overall picture is dark or taken in a garage the angel eyes will often times be overexposed looking brighter then in person

Please let me know if you have any questions about these as well

No coding... The first picture was showing the old lux on the left vs the new lux on the right. I did use focus feature on my camera to get the angel eyes. In person the ones in the left looked just like the picture. The new lux is brighter then the old one but like he said above, it isn't THAT bright in person.

We just have to face our cars are old and this is as good as it gets. If we want true angel eyes like the newer models... we gotta spend at least 800+ with OSS designs for a total headlight revamp... I'm good on spending that much money on a 12 year old car.

I am happy between the older lux and the newer one. No complaints... Just need to figure out whats the best option for the fog lights without going xenons... the ones I have now are thunder something.. They are okay... They do have great visibility at night though when I drive on dark roads.

So the top pick is the old one?

With the LUX E90 V7 angel eyes do I need to do any coding? I have original halogen headlights that came with my 2009 328i Sedan and it’s just not workin for me anymore. Any help would be much appreciated!

It's an easy DIY. All angel eye bulbs are about the same DIY.

If you are a fully visual learner, search Justin Buice's YouTube video on Angel Eyes install. He shows you step-by-step.

Look into Weisslicht

https://bimmian.com/Accessories-for-...o-Upgrade-Kit/

Or

You would have to get Lux 180 and or Lux LCI Halogen v3.

The only thing I’m not excited about the lux they haven’tasted very long on my car- I’m also looking for alternative options that last longer or just putting in my stock bulbs
