So I have a 2010 e92 with idrive but has the base audio system. No hifi/amp. 4 mids and 2 subs. I'm wondering what are my options for upgrading the system but staying as oem as possible. I'm fine with wiring the speakers from the trunk to where they are in the car.

Are the speakers connected to the idrive in the front? Or the MOST box in the back?

Update: I also have a 328 coupe parts car that has a hifi system. Any way I could wire that up to mine to be "oem".

Suggest a bimmertech helix 82dsp setup and a set of the drop in speakers
from Jehnert , Gladen or Audio Systems for the front doors and floors.

Only analog connections for speakers from the radio or idrive .
In the base system the front doors and floors are wired in parallel
and should be separated when adding and amp.
The most bus boxes do not connect to the speakers some of the alarms
come through the radio but this has nothing to do with the Most Bus.

If you don't go with bimmertech which has a harness look at the Technic
harnesses a Technicpnp.com

https://technicpnp.com/

If you read the links it will tell you almost all you need to know.
Some of the threads are old but the knowledge they convey is the same.
Some of the parts in the older are obsolete but there are newer and better ones.
