incoming calls not picked up by car?

My phone pairs and works perfectly with my i-drive bluetooth system but there is one problem. Are incoming calls displayed on the i-drive screen? WHen i get an incoming call, my phone rings and there is no message on the screen. Then when i open the phone to take the call, the call gets transferred to the car speakers. The screen changes and lists the incoming call # as ******. This is becoming very annoying because i think it defeats the purpose of handsfree b/c whenever i get a call i have to first check the number and then open the phone and put it back. Do i not have some option checked or am i doing something incorrectly?

hmmm. ive never had that problem unless its a number that is not in my phonebook. it has always shown the name of the caller.
