335D Stuck in Sport mode
Hi everyone, Just came across this thread and was hoping that I can get a possible solution.
Earlier today I had just finished wasing my car and afterwards I took it for a blast on the duel carriageway which is 30 seconds from my house to dry it off. Ive let the car warm up as I always do and was on my way. As I got to the duel carriage way i disabled the traction control and then put the car into sport mode. Gave it a quick blip and then put it back into normal driving mode (I had put my foot down for no more than 2 seconds). I noticed then that even though I had moved the shifter to the right (Back into "D") the revs were still high and on the dash "M2" was shown. Not only was it stuck in Sport mode but I couldnt change up or down with the paddle shifters nor the handle shifter. Im hoping that this is an electrical issue but with the luck that I've had over recent years, it is most probably mechanical. Could anyone shed some light on this matter? Thank you Ryan |

check the wiring underneath the shift selector. I had a few E90s that chafed a few wires and they broke, its pulled pretty tight around the assembly. pop the trim panel and have a look.

I had something similar happen after accidentally hitting the downshift paddle while in reverse. After putting in drive it was stuck in M mode. It sorted itself out after restarting the car. I have xHP flash, fwiw.
