download phone book from cell via Bluetooth?
I was wondering, with the 335xi (no i-Drive) with Bluetooth activated.
Is there a way where I can upload/download the phone book from my cell to the BMW? I would hate to redo a bunch of numbers onto the BMW system if there is a simpler way. Thanks guys! p.s. I did a search and didn't find anyone answering this specific question. The manual doesn't say much either about downloading the cell's phone book via bluetooth. |

Yep, it works. SA did it for me (for the Blackberry 8830) when I picked up the car.

Darn... I guess it's not compatible then. I have a Nokia N73 and it's not downloading. I was wondering if I had to give it a command to start or not.

Should works with no problem with Blackberry 8300, 8700 and 8800 series. Phone books transfer to the car automatically once you establish Bluetooth connection. Takes about 5 seconds to complete.

Nokia cells are crap for BMW's system
Yes, I can dial and receive calls. The bluetooth shows a connection.
I was doing some 'google' searches and it seems that the Nokia cell phones do not work very well with BMW. Something about the Symbian OS not compatible. When I when to bmwusa.com bluetooth website, there are no Nokia's listed. That's what I think, I'm still not sure. I'm wondering if anyone here who has a Nokia was successful with their downloading of their phone book from their cell to the car. |

I can't believe the crap I'm going thru with my Nokia. This will be my last Nokia phone until they smarten up and be leaders instead of cheap tech falling behind product company.
It's amazing there isn't enough uproar at Nokia to get with the times considering the amount of people who own Nokia. If anyone knows of a solution (other than replace my phone) please let me know. Thanks! |
