Where Do I Start?
2010 BMW 535XI
So my car has been recently running like poop. But 40% of the time it drives and runs great. So it is an intermittent issue. Recently I've done the following.. cleaned the intake manifold ports, new ignitions coils, new spark plugs, new valve cover and valve cover gasket, fuel tank breather valve. The rough running has got worse, today I checked the psi readings from the boost solenoids and for the first one closest to the bumper I was getting 14 psi at cold start and then it would jump to 17.5 psi after a minute or 2. For the second boost solenoid, I was getting 13.5 psi at cold start and 15 psi when warmed up. My next move was to drop everything from the bottom and give the turbos an inspection. Truthfully I wouldn't even know what to look for but I'm hoping there's some sort of rebuild kit for it. Any suggestion is greatly appreciated, here are the codes as of today. Not a bad idea, if it was me and it's been more than 50k Miles I would just replace them and save yourself the trouble.

this might be stupid question, but what does everyone thing of the vanos solenoids on ebay. i see them going for 2 for $30. or should i avoid them totally?
also, im thinking of just dropping the bottom and removing the turbos. im looking at the rebuild kits on ebay. might also replace the waste gate actuator and flaps and all oil and coolant seal gaskets and seals. hopefully that will do something. |
