I have a second car that im trying to sell that has pock marks in the windshiled, nothing massive...but the typical small stone hits glass kinda deal. anyone have any experience with getting stuff like that filled, a price, or product, etc...
Thanks. |

![]() ![]() Sure you can fix it, up to a certain size of course... But if its just a tiny chip in the window, just go to your local autoparts store and purchase any window crack/chip fix it kit. I've had to do that a few times on my 335i and its fine now. You still see the slight chip but its filled in and smooth now. Before using the fix it product you could feel the pit caused by the chip when running your finger across it, but after the fix its filled in and smooth. ![]() |

he's talking more in terms of a cosmetic fix, i.e. pock marks that are not going to develop into cracks
The fix you're talking about is going to fill the chips, yes, but you can still see the marks on the windshield. The fix is aimed to prevent the chips from developing into major cracks, not a cosmetic fix like what touch-up paint does to paint chips on the body of the car Quote:

I bought the kit from autozone (or one of those places) for about $10-$15.
But just to be clear, like canuck mentions this WILL NOT make the chips disappear. They will still be visable but just filled in. The main reason to use this product is to prevent the chip from growing or spidering, at which point you would need to replace your whole windshield. |
