Code 2D20 - Accelerator Pedal Module... NOT fixed by new pedal
Hello all, I hope this is the appropriate place for this post. First, the car in question:
'07 6MT N54 E92 with JB4 and the usual bolt-ons. Started developing an intermittent issue in which nearly all power is lost (car barely accelerates) and code 2D20 is thrown. At first, this seemed like an easy fix... just order a new throttle pedal from BMW, stick it in, and away we go. Fast forward a few weeks, and the problem is back, having occurred in the last two driving cycles. A) What are the odds that the replacement pedal is bad? B) Has anyone had an issue upstream of the pedal cause this? The next thought I've had is the JB4, as I assume the throttle signals go through that harness. Considering removing it to see if it goes away, but I'm hoping for some other ideas as well. TIA |

Same here
I have the exact same scenario! Same symptoms, same code, replaced accelerator pedal module, and issue reappeared twice since. Looking for answers too. Fingers crossed

Have you guys found the culprit to this? I'm getting similar codes.
mhd shows - DME active codes - 27D9 - Accelerator pedal module, pedal sensor 1, electrical: Short circuit to B+. 27DB - Accelerator pedal module, pedal sensor 2, electrical: Short circuit to B+. - DME shadow (inactive) codes - 27E4 - Accelerator-pedal module, pedal-travel sensor Multiple fault. |

Posting here as well since I found the possible answer !
I found the issue after many many wire tests I tested every wire coming from the pedal for continuity, obviously not the issue, then I loosened the grounds under the hood and retightened them one at a time and found the ground, it was the one located on the pass side strut tower under the hood, as a recap I was getting the 2d20 code constantly and the reduced power mode, also would see other faults popping up randomly but the 2d20 was consistant. That is a quote from the link below the first link I found when searching your trouble code . https://www.n54tech.com/forums/showthread.php?t=52064 |
