Has anyone had their car serviced there?

I went in to BMW of Manhattan (purchased the car there) to fix two bubbles I had with the crappy RFT. Reason I went there was the fact that I had purchased the wheel/tire insurance initially.
The SA himself was really nice. I came in the first day, waited around a few minutes, and he came back telling me that they didnt have any of the tires in stock, so he told me he would call me back when they arrived (next day). I was a little worried since the bubble turned into more like a rip on the side wall. He said it would be fine to drive. I took the dumbass risk of driving it back home anyways. I go back the second time, SA said they have the tires in stock, but they cant replace the tires for me under warranty unless it gets the ok from the insurance company that covered the tires. I said screw it, change the tires, i'll pay up front for now and deal with the warranty reimbursement later. They take the documentation (pictures, descript, etc.) and get the wheels fixed. Before I get the car, they asked if I wanted the car to get cleaned. I SPECIFICALLY said no in case they fuck up the car. I get the car back dripping wet. Eugh. Wheels and tires look good, but my account gets $800 lighter. whatever. The next few weeks, I call the SA every other day to get an update on the coverage for the tires. No answer. I called his desk... no answer. When I DID reach him, he said he'll give them a call and then give me a call back right away. I never got the call back. Results? Well, the tires and wheels are holding up well. Haven't had an issue, but i did pay full price for those tires (partially my fault, i thought i could trust the dealer) and my car has swirl marks on some of the panels. It's not the worst place to go to. The people there are really polite and courteous, but I was expecting better service and results from them. I've had better service in DiFeo which is crazy to say, but that's my experience.

Everyone says difeo is good. The whole tire insurance thing is total BS. My dad and I both purchased it and its worthless to be honest. He had to come out of pocket and wait like 6 weeks to get reimbursed!

I went there about a year and a half ago. I wanted to check them out because I heard they're owned by BMW NA, rather than being a franchise. I had rattling speaker and a couple of other minor issues (like a seat belt clip that kept falling off). During dropoff and pickup, the SA seemed rushed and indifferent. They kept the car for 5 days because they had to order a part, and I wasn't offerred a rental or loaner. When I picked up the car, all the problems were resolved and they put a BMW of Manhattan bottle of water in the passenger seat. Overall, I didn't think it was exceptional nor bad, but I probably wouldn't go there again just because it's out of the way for me.

Damn, looks like i fell for that. So your dad had to pay out of his pocket first, then after 6 weeks he got reimbursed?

I'm hearing different about the other plan where you pay nothing out of pocket. I'm planning on picking this up when I get my car next week. 600 vs 1200 and no hassle? The 1200 is a no brainer then considering the cost of tires in one year at least.

Yes, I purchased my car from them and have had all the service performed there. They will perform the 'required' service but you won't get any extras. No free car wash or loaners (even though I purchased my car from them).
I've also purchased parts from them before, everything is retail. |
