E30 Hardtop Convertible Top (TYP 1953956, KBA 36228)

Hello. Pardon the newbie questions. I've searched the forums and hope I am in the right place.

My brother died last year and left his black hardtop (TYP 1953956, KBA 36228). The convertible has been sold and we have no paperwork on the car or the top. We believe this top fits the E30 Cabrio (1983-1994). I've contacted online sellers and dealerships but have not heard back.

We would like to sell the top but wanted more info to give potential buyers. It will be local NYC pickup unless the buyer can make arrangements for and pay shipping.

If anyone has a similar hardtop with the same TYP and KBA numbers, would you tell me what model BMW this fits?

Photos are below. Please let me know if you have any questions. Thank you everyone for your time.

You are correct in that the hardtop is for an E30 convertible. They are rare, and as a result are very valuable. Rough ones look to be listed around $1200, whereas ones in excellent condition (no rips/tears/delamination in the exterior material and good condition headliner and seals, including the rack and cover is a bonus as well) seem to ask $2000+.

www.r3vlimited.com is a great resource for E30 related questions, parts, etc.

I'm trying to figure that out. Having never done this before, we're looking for an easy, secure transaction. I've asked some resellers if they would want to handle it. We're not in a rush but would like to find a good home for it relatively soon. I'd like to get more photos so that the condition is clear. I believe it was hardly used.
