CEL JB2HR
so i went to MIR for Battle of the Imports... show was kind of boring so decided to run my car. i had about 1/8 of a tank of 93 left so i pumped in 2 gallons of 104 octane and switched on the R map.
mods: JB2HR, HKS BOV wheels: 19 in DPE General tires 265/30/19 My run down the track ended up with a CEL limp mode and i dont know why.. can anyone help? I ran it 2 times with the R map on and both times ended with a CEL limp mode. its fine when i reset the car and turn off the R map.. that got me a 13.014@108 mph

Same thing happened to me... CEL/ Limp mode comes on about half way through the 1/4 mile, I have JBX and was running 101 oct tried R map/ 25%, R map/ 0%, R map off/ 100%, 75%, 50%, 25%, 10%, only if I put R map off and 0% boost, will I not throw limp... people have told me to check my wiring, and they something might have came loose, but I've been to lazy.. it only came on at the track, I've mashed the pedal plenty of times and its never happened...

Its cause you put the gas in and didnt drive 50 miles first. You have to let it adapt to race gas after flipping R switch. You cant drive it hard so quickly. Its happened to me before like ur situation. Plus sell ur HKS BOV and go with forge dvs... You will have better shifting and you will get the same sound as your bov, but not as loud. You should stick with bmw original design for n54 with the diverter setup ![]() Try to do a few third gear pulls if you can next time. It will help with adapting

I was also getting limps at MIR w/ 104 octane w/ the R switch on.........I put the car back to stock tune, no more limps. The car was silly fast though, boosting into the mid 16's.

Depending on the car, they may react with CELs when you start using the hotpills. Especially if you are in warmer weather/higher elevation. I also think it is the higher speeds. I got a CEL a couple of times on the fwy during high speed pulls. However, soon as I got in the canyons, and did some canyon racing, constantly running the engine to redline, no CELs whatsoever. So perhaps its around 100mph or so that is more likely to throw the CEL.
