MHD Stage 2+ Spark Plugs

Let me make this as simple as possible.

I have a 2011 E90 335i xDrive N55.
I have the BMS cold air intake
I have the ETS Charge Pipe
I have the 7" ETS FMIC (Not Installed Yet)
I have MHD on Stage 1 at the moment.

I am missing catless downpipe.

So I plan on going stage 2+ as soon as I get my downpipe and FMIC installed, but I wanted to know which spark plugs should I use and with which gap.

Do I need some specific coils or I can keep my stock ones?

Thanks!

BMS sells some NGK plugs that I've found work pretty well.. I got the 1-step colder plugs for now. They have the gap on their site, but I think it's .022.

And you are running Stage 2+? How is the cylinder correction looking and on what octane level.

Thanks!

I'm just on stage 1 right now. I still need to get downpipes and find a good source for fuel. Stuck on 91 octane down in southern AZ. I'm not sure about cylinder correction though.

You can keep the coils stock for now unless your getting misfires. As for plugs you can get one step colder ones from BMS. They're NGK and are gapped to 0.022"

Alright so the NGk ones on the BMS they are already pre-gapped (I guess not)?
I have nearly 105km on my car so I do not mind changing the coils. Would you recommend anything for a change?

I just got FMIC and catted downpipes installed recently along with NGK 1-step colder spark plugs. I believe Bfurrow95 and Soden82 said that they come gapped at the recommended .022, but correct me if I understood wrong.

I haven't had any problems so far, but I've only driven the car about ~50 miles since going FBO. I did get the check engine light to pop up. Believe that's bc of the catted downpipes. Planning on flashing MHD S2+ soon and hopefully it fixes it.

I use stock bosch plugs without any issues.
I don't think NGK plugs are needed for OTS pump gas maps.

Alright that is very good. If you could give me any type of feed back on your Stage 2+ that would be great, because up here in Canada fuel is garbage so I have to make it work in a way that I still have a car lol.

Yeah I was reading that the stock bosh plugs are to be used up to 475 hp. I think I picked that up on BMS's website. But I was thinking since I was going to change my spark plugs anyways, should I get the 1 step colder one?

I wouldn't use NGK unless I have to.
They are cheaper but wear out faster.

NGK last about 15-20k mile and Bosch plugs about 20-30k. I read around the forums that 1-step colder spark plugs are recommended for cars that have an additional 100 hp.

I'm FBO plus other minor things, and getting MHD and xHP tuned soon. Wanted to try the NGK 1-step colder spark plugs so just gave em a shot.

I just pulled the N20 plugs out of my car after 30k miles. They still looked fine. No visible wear to the electrode or ground strap. Changing plugs any sooner than 30k miles just seems like a waste of money to me. Only replacing mine because I rebuilt the motor. One step colder plugs looked to be running perfectly fine. No signs that they were too cold. In fact, it looked like I could probably run a 2-step colder plug. This is on a very hard driven car running stage 2+ or a custom E30 tune making 24psi.

So right now on your stage 2+ your are running the stock Bosch ones? In that case I would do the same since you have a pretty similar build. I heard some of the stock models from Bosch don't have the BMW logo on them and do not act 100% like the genuine stock one. Is it true?

And btw, is the catted DP from wagner worth it or I should just slap on the catless?

The right one ends with S.
Wagner catted? Worth every penny!
I already got PE and PPK.
No way I run catless.

I bought my NGK 1-step colder spark plugs from BMS and they just confirmed that they don't come gapped at 0.022". You have to gap them yourselves. Wish I knew that when I got mine installed. I haven't had any issues, but I want to pull them out and gap them properly now.

If you aren't having problems then what do you think a tighter gap is going to do for you??? You don't need to gap down plugs on a stock turbo n55.
