Dimisa V 4 Tips SG

Just installed these and they look great! The driver side has the vacuum acuator at the bend on the stock exhaust, so be careful where you cut it. The tips stick out about 1/4 inch more than OEM and are lined up with the top of the bumper cap. IMHO, I think this is the best loolk.

JP, if you have not dealt with him, is great- ready to help and fast on answering questions.

Exhaust Sound

Instead of the golf tee mod, I disconnected the actuator lead from inside the trunk. There is a post on doing that in the DIY. I didn't think the tips would make ANY difference, but they do! Slight - but just enough!

The exhaust guy who put it on commented on the quality of the tips - which IMHO, are very well made.

To get them just the way I wanted them, I had them trim the inlet side of the tips by about 1/4 inch. They don't stick out too far - just far enough for you to notice, but not too far to look "unnatural"

Highly recommended.

I believe JP has the black powder coated ones now, and the quad tips.

Awesome!

When you have the exhaust shop cut the oem pipes, make sure that the cut is nice and clean. Then have them spray the cut cross section with silver high heat paint - that way, when you look in through the dimisa tips, the edges blend in better!

Install

Since we are all OC to a certain degree, start with installing the one on the driver's side - make sure it protrudes just right, and that it is level. Once you have done that, do the passenger side - not the other way around!

Bring your own measuring tape, bubble leveller, etc. I also brought some masking tape to tape on the inside edge of the exhaust opening and around the outside area where the tips protrude -- this prevents dirty hand imprints, and any scratches from tools touching the paint.

The shop had to undo the hangers and drop the mufflers to get to weld the top of the tips -- make sure that they don't break the hangers - especially the one toward the middle of the car.

Once everything is done - recheck for level using the bulb leveller - take off the tape - it distracts your eyes when you are trying to line things up!

Once everything is buttoned up, back the car off the hoist SLOWLY so you don't scratch your new tips or anyhting else.

Enjoy that new Dimisa sound (with or without the modified tee mod) - and the extra 1000 HP of smiles that you and others are going to give you.

As I left the shop, I had a Z06 pull up next to me - the driver said "Look at those moneysticks!" LOL. The Z06 tips look anemic compared to V4. He asked if Dimisa made them for his car - so JP you might get a call!
