Bmw F30 Key ?

Hi Guys ,My son has broken his spare key , So he needs a new complete Key( Stop Start ) design where is the best place to get one and also cheapest , Is it correct that if he bought second hand he will be able to code it from the car or is this total rubbish please advise best way to sort it .

I don't think he will be able to sync his own key, last time I asked the dealer it was around £300 for the key including coding, this was on an E92.

Car Security / Locksmith specialist quoted me £200 for the same work.
