Hey bro the Kenwood's pretty sweet compared to the Pioneer AVIC-N4 that I had in the E92 prior to this, the function and the level of sophistication is far beyond the AVIC-N4. Still, it's not perfect, but to my needs it has pretty much everything I needed. The navi's great, tons of POI, very "USER-FRIENDLY", detail oriented, even finds the little streets too. My installer bypassed some module so that I don't have to have the ebrake on in order for the DVD player to work, so it's all good~ Hopefully yours works well for your needs it's a pretty nice unit, keep us updated on what's next! (btw my camera's messed up right now I'll have more pix asap once I get a hold of a decent camera)

Looks good! I just got my 335i, and I'm looking to do something like this as well.

Sorry if these are stupid questions, however I just started researching and have not found any answers:

1. Are you steering wheel controls functional anymore? i.e. volume, next/previous track button, phone controls?
2. Does the stock bluetooth microphone still work?
3. Does the stock iPod adapter still work?

Thanks in advance!

1.It'll only work if you install the steering wheel adapter which your unit supports.

2.The stock bluetooth won't work since the stock headunit will be removed to make space for the new head unit. You'll have to buy a bluetooth adapter as well.

3.stock one won't work, but most new headunits comes with the ipod jack now

Thanks for the quick reply and info! Definitely appreciate it.

Now that I know I can use the controls on the steering wheel, one of my bigger concerns. Have you seen or heard anything about a double din unit fitting? Are there any kits that will accommodate this?

No double din for them. I had to go with the single one too. But the only think that it would no work will be the SOS and you are stock with the error code on the dash.

I have heard nothing about the sos still being functional, I was told i would lose it along with the code showing up.
There is an adapter for the steering wheel the shop that did my install told me they would have it.

Has anybody went to there dealer for service and had any trouble?

I went to the dealer and was told that in order for the SOS to work I needed to put back the OEM radio.

Thanks for the info! I think I might try to hold out until something becomes available. If anyone hears anything, please share.

There was a thread here some where that showed of a place out in japan that offered a double din kit. It looked pretty good. The kit also came with wiring to move the stock head unit to the trunk so you can keep the gong's and bluetooth / SOS features in tact. (try doing a search double DIN or something...)
