How to peel off old Shadowline Trim
The title says it all. My 2008 e92 has all of the Shadowline trim chipping and peeling like many people on here. I stopped by 2 different shops and they said they wouldn't wrap over an existing wrap. Neither one of them were interested in trying to peel off the original factory wrap.
Which leads to my question, has anyone on here peeled off the original wrap? If so, how difficult was it? I started in one spot and it really doesn't come off easily. What I really want to do is paint it instead of wrapping it again. Has anyone done this? All I have found on here is people wrapping the original chrome trim. What have you guys done with the original Shadowline trim chipping and peeling off? Any input would be greatly appreciated. |

I don't think it ever came wrapped from the factory, at least my 2010 didn't, it's painted. You sure a previous owner didn't wrap it? Either way, vinyl wrap shouldn't be all that difficult to peel. A heat gun/blow dryer might help. There are YouTube videos on both wrapping the trim, and general vinyl wrap removal.
