NJ Private car sale - waiting on title

Hey guys,

I recently paid off a car they i'm looking to sell this weekend. I don't have the title on hand as i'm waiting on it to arrive from the lender. Do i have to wait until i have the title on hand to make the sale or is there another way?

Would you buy a car without a title from a stranger? Your best bet is taking a deposit til you have title

Can't really sell a car without title. Buyer would request it.

I would wait as suggested to save yourself the headache of explaining to potential buyer that you dont have the title.

your only recourse is to call your lender and request it be expedited and possibly pay extra to overnight it.

You could use an escrow too - a third party that holds buyer's money until contract is fulfilled and both buyer and seller sign off. They usually charge a fee however.
