Michelin PS4S

Who's running PS4s & what are your thoughts on them?
I need to replace my fronts & would be interested in people's experience of how the PS4s perform.
Thanks in advance.

Best tyres i have had on the car. Plenty of grip when going through twists/turns, under brakes and off the lights. Not the cheapest but you pay for what you get....

Had the front supersports replaced with PS4S this morning
Having been out for a little drive to see how they feel the ps4s are an improvement over the supersports, am very happy with them

so ypu tried them from cold ie not run in over say 50-100 miles,,i find tyres need a good few miles to bite in..the uniroyals do,,slippery at first in the wet,,then give them 100 miles and they are like glue in the wet.

Are you using PS4 or PS4S? I've had the PS4 and Supersport, the Supersport rode, steered and gripped better IMO, but I've not tried the PS4S yet, because I'm on 18s and they're not available in 18.

PS4S, they seem really good & have a lot more tread at the edges than the supersports, hopefully they will wear better at the edges & last longer.
Even with having the car regularly geo'd the edges have worn out whilst still having plenty of tread left through the main part of the tyre

If my info is correct the main difference between PS4 and PS4S is the side walls. PS4S has stronger sidewalls which gives it more precise and sportier feeling steering.

I've got Goodyear Eagle F1 A3's on the front of mine (were on it when I bought it), and the outside edges have also worn pretty badly. Will get an alignment done when I replace them, but was wondering is it common for the E9x to wear the outside edges?

The guy that fitted the new tyres did say that's typical bmw tyre wear, this will be my third pair of fronts, both of the previous sets also wore the outer edges despite having the car geo'd two or three times a year.
My e36 328i was also hard on the front outer edges. Maybe it's the way we drive them

I check tyre pressures every week & have them at 2.5 bar all round, as recommended by my BMW dealer & the stickers on the door frame.
I suspect the 300 or so miles driven from having the front subframe dropped to do the leaky sump gasket & replacement of turbos & being able to get a geo done may have killed the tyres, although they were still wearing more on the outer edges anyways.
How are you liking the 35d? Have you posted any pics of the old oil burner yet?

Thanks, I see they list a wider range of sizes in the US, than we seem to have available here: https://www.michelinman.com/upload/m...t-sport-4s.pdf

Do you get wheel alignment done on the front tyres only or all tyres? I'm getting four new tyres put on but only recently realised you can track all corners and not just the front. I imagine just front two is sufficient for 90+% of the time.

I always have four wheel alignment

Well I’m going to have to upgrade the rears to 4S sooner than I thought, although there is plenty of tread on them the 35i has eaten the passenger side rear inner edge down to the canvas The car has regular 4 wheel hunter alignments, last one being October 18 & 3,600 miles ago.

These are the current suspension values and the partially eaten tyre, I'm not a suspension guru but it appears that there is too much negative camber

Booked in with my local tyre place for Tuesday. I have decided to go with buying a pair of PS4S rather than one SuperSport, just over £400 fitted.
