Samsung Tab A 10.1 Dash Mount
I basically got to the point where I was tired of hooking up the aux cord to my phone and Bluetooth adapters failing. I didn't want to replace the HU because of the logic 7 and it's semi decent sound. So I picked up a tablet after procrastinating on actually doing it, along with some magnetic mounts with double sided tape.
As you all know the shape of the dash is akward and not the easiest as far as options for mounting, Kuda mount, Garmin mount, wouldn't cut it for what I wanted which was a flush mount, easy to remove, useable vents, and stable with a 10.1 tablet. I ended up using painters tape and putting it on the days right above the vents and some JB Weld Putty stuff and made platforms that would bring the magnetic mount out to keep tablet even and straight up. I also used some industrial strength double-sided tape, as I've done this in the past and was able to whole it using a heat gun and rubbing alcohol which didn't leave a mark on the dash. I've been too lazy to setup Tasker or Automate for hotspot or whatever as hotspot is in quick settings on the phone and takes but a second to turn on. Also in developer options you already have the option to stay awake when plugged in and like a minute after the car is off tablet turns off. I mainly wanted to get a Samsung Tab to pair with my phone as I can use Samsung SideSync with my Note 8 and Tab A to mirror everything from phone to tab using WiFi Direct. It works decent and has a 1080p mirror resolution, so I don't have to worry about HotSpot throttling after however much I get etc. |
