Which LSD? Need to choose fluid
So my father picked up a used 07 6MT RWD 335i which had a few good oem mods on it (M-sport bumpers, rare options and oem blacklines). Turns out it also has a different diff too.
A large case 3.46 diff with some LSD in it BUT I cant figured out which one it is. I took a pic with a bore camera through the fill hole and these are the 2 features I could see: 20181009_073128 by Neil Vanderlaan, on Flickr 20181009_073028 by Neil Vanderlaan, on Flickr It is solid except for 2 or 3 of each of those features all the way around and they alternate. The oval one is closer to the ring gear and the other is a spiral opening near the other end of the diff They dont match M factory (torsen or clutch), Quaife, Wavetrac, Cusco, OS Giken etc? could be be an oem lsd from another older bmw?? It would be nice to know which LSD is actually in it but its better than open regardless. I'm thinking some regular 75w90 Redline fluid is what we will be doing if we don't find out. |
