Bluetooth adapter for 2011 E92 Base Stereo without Nav
I have read lots of threads about adapters for audio systems with NAV but nothing for us Base Stereo owners without Navigation.
Are there any out there that have been tested for Android devices. I love how Pandora says it's connected to my car but does not stream. I have hands free phone and that's it! Thanks in advance for your help! Randy

How base? Im not as familiar with all of the possible radio options but my professional model works really well with the MOST bluetooth adapter from ebay/amazon that was recommended by another user. It goes behind the stereo in the fiber optic loop and lies to the head unit saying its a CD changer.

There is a cutoff date with that bluetooth adapter .
If the car does not accept cdc I don't think you can use it. Though its a good solution for anybody that can use it. For some reason the Pro Radio is not able to use the combox for bluetooth streaming even though it can with idrive/nav Always say which sound system and the year of the car when asking for help. There is a lot of stuff that streams through the aux but no wheel controls and the aux is noted to be low fidelity. |

It's the base system. 6 speakers, no amp. Two mids in the doors, two mids in the back, and two floor subs. Not really sure how much more I can describe it. Aux jack is not the option I want as it quality of the audio is extremely poor.

Does it have just the 3.5mm aux jack or the 3.5mm jack + USB?

Edit: I looked it up and any of the Tune2Air products will work w/Android. They just won't have full functionality but should get you what you're looking for.

I see the Tune2Air WMA3000B is designed for the USB/Aux In but went doing any search on video reviews everyone seems to have iDrive/Nav.
Does anyone know if this will work with a car that does not have Nav/iDrive?

That is the one I have. I was using it in my 2011 335i which had CiC iDrive/Nav, but then moved it into my 2013 335is w/out iDrive/Nav and it works just fine. My understanding is that the only difference between the WMA1000 & WMA3000B is that the 3000 has the connector attached whereas the 1000 connects to the BMW 'Y' Adapter.

Researching stereos was not on my radar when I bought my car going on five years ago. Apparently, the "Hi-Fi" stereo is the one to have for ease of upgradability.

I just don't want to spend the $90 plus time if I have to return it. There has got me to someone that has the same radio combination that has tried it and knows for sure.

I know what you mean. There either has to be someone who has the same combo or even better, someone who is close to you that has a Tune2Air that you could try (all it takes it to plug it into your car). If you were closer, I'd be glad to meet you and work on this, but alas...
The only upside to this is if you DO get one, they are in demand and you could prob get almost what you paid for it if it didn't work. Put it up in your regional thread and maybe someone close by can help you out. BTW, that is the same head unit I have...

I've got the same stereo as you and use a tune2air module for my android. Works fine.
Limitations are: 1) It won't show the track name on your stereo display like an iPhone would (tune2air is really an iPhone product) 2) It will show "iPod" on your radio display even when it's an android phone 3) Not all apps allow you to use your volume and track skip buttons on your steering wheel, but most will Can't really go wrong and I use my phone as a display (mounted centrally to the dash) when listening to music so most of these aren't problems for me |
