Are there 2 types of Subwoofer Enclosure ?

I want to change the subwoofers on my standard stereo which I know uses 6.5" speakers under the seats, digging through the BMW parts data I can't find a seperate subwoofer enclosure for the 8" version fitted to the upgraded stereo's.

Will an 8" subwoofer fit in the 6.5" enclosure fitted in my car ?
or have BMW grouped together the subwoofers and enclosure in the parts catalogue ?

I am hoping someone has upgraded the 6.5" subwoofers to 8" and found that I don't need to change anything else

I am guessing really that there are subwoofers in the standard stereo system, I can't fint it written anywhere?

gIzzE knows because I think he put the larger subs in his car and made no mention of changing the enclosures. I think they take the larger units without any change.
