Question Best tool for loosening post-cat O2 sensor?

Bought a shorty 22m wrench, but was unable to get it in-between the exhaust pipes to loosen and replace the bank 2 post-cat O2 sensor (gray wire).

Are there any tools out there that would make this painless?

A buddy of mine is thinking we'd have to drop the exhaust, or at least part of it (like the downpipes), to get to this sensor. Really hoping this isn't the case.

Any ideas?

Kroil Oil - soak them for 24 hours. If not, your buddy is right. You will have to drop the exhaust from the turbos back.

Make sure to snap a picture of the V clamps pertaining to where the bolt is before you take them off. You will want to put them back together exactly where you had them.

The issue I'm having so far is just getting a wrench in there. I was able to use PB blaster to loosen a pre-cat O2 sensor and get it off with this same wrench, but the angle that this post-cat (bank 2) sensor is at, the wrench can't get at it..

Just wondering if anyone has a recommended tool or combo of tools to get up in there?

Google 22mm o2 sensor tool. It's like a ring spanner with a notch cut out should do the trick without removing the dp. Or if u have a 22mm ring spanner, diy a notch out of it with a grinder etc....And maybe bend it to suit so it will fit in. A wee bit imagmation and u should get it loosened.

FYI -- for anyone attempting to replace post-cat bank 2 sensor, I tried this tool from Autozone which looked like a winner: https://www.autozone.com/loan-a-tool...ket/947305_0_0.

Unfortunately, it was not flexible enough of a tool to get onto the threads of the o2 sensor (see attached picture).

Just ordered a 22mm "Stanley Proto Thin Wrench" from Amazon (https://amzn.to/2S5ts80) which was pricey but should have the slim profile and strength necessary to get this thing out of there...
