Tracking for Canadians

I just got word that my production is complete for my E90.

I have the VIN number. I was just wondering if all these tracking guides posted here works for Canadians as well??

I CAN'T WAIT!!!

some of them do

here is a copy of what I posted on www.mtlbmw.com:
A few words about tracking a Canadian order:

- there is not a Canadian equivalent to the U.S. Owner's Circle (OC) so we can't get the status of our cars online; however, when calling BMW Canada (1 800 567-2691), they can give you an update if you have your Production number or your VIN

- all Canadian orders go through the port of Halifax (Eatern Passage facility) and then travel by CN (info on the autoport: http://www.cn.ca/specialized/autopor...toport.shtml); it is possible to track the car on the train using your VIN (http://www.cn.ca/velocity/en_velocity.shtml), but only if you are able to create an account, which I was unable to do because I am apparently not a direct customer of CN

- the final leg of the journey is handled by L. Hansen's Forwarding (http://www.lhf.com/hansens/index2.php) whose website let's you track your shipment from CN's yard to the dealer using the last 8 characters of your VIN

Finally, here is an additional website that I used a lot:
http://www.blg.de/jumpto/index_en.php
If you click on Automobile at the right of the screen, you get access to a webcam showing Bremerhaven's autoport in real time. If a ship is there, you can cross-reference the shipping schedules with the boat pictures on www.vesseltracker.com to identify the vessel you are seeing.
by the way, I'm getting my car tomorrow, roughly 35-37 days after it was built (don't know the exact date it was completed)

Cool.......thanks for all the info.

How can you tell which ship the car is on though? Will the 1-800 number give me that information?

I don't think the 1-800 has the info, but they might.

Otherwise, just use the WW website
http://www.2wglobal.com/www/WEP/index.jsp
customer tools -> cargo tracking -> auto cargo

it usually takes about 1-2 days to show your car once it is on the boat; I think the great majority of cars going to Canada use this shipping company

however, if your car is on another shipping company, I don't think you can know for sure which boat it's on; you may however find out what ships are going to Halifax using the following website: http://www.dbh.de/index.php?id=151 (enter "Bremerhaven" as the Port name)

thanks Arter, I'm enjoying it a lot!

funny thing, yesterday I was trying to drive it slow and keep the RPMs low, but my shifts were bumpy; I put it on account of not having driven a MT for 3 years

but this morning, I was driving a lot more agressively and strangely enough, the shifts were smooth; I guess this car is meant to be driven with enthousiasm!

btw, I posted a few pic on the Courage thread:
