Putting sport springs back on
Hey guys,
Here’s the deal, I’ve had my H&R sport springs in since 29k miles and now that I am at 70k, I’m tired of the harsh ride. Only later did I find out that it was a bad idea to pair stock sport shocks with H&R sport springs. If I were to put back on my stock sport springs, will my shocks be more worn out due to the lowering springs? Or wouldn’t that have mattered? Thanks in advance.

After having gone through a similar situation, I would 100% replace the shocks and upper mounts while I'm in there. Do it it once, do it right.

I'd guess that at 70k, your shocks are just about shot anyway, regardless of what springs they were matched with.

Methinks your harsh ride was always due to your shocks and never due to your springs

I hated the ride on my H&R sports as well but I ran them with stock bumpstops/Koni oranges.
I switched to Tein S techs with proper bumpstops and had factory-like ride with the drop I wanted. After this many miles your shocks may be toast but while you're already in there, you may want to consider another set of springs paired with proper bumpstops if you like the lowered stance but hate the ride. |
