Broke My 1/8th Mile Record at Irwindale!
I went there with the newest V3 maps last night, and had a blast!
I have finally figured the perfect solution for warming up the tires. I used to put it in second gear, but that works if you can stay in place in the water box. What I did last night was warm them up in first but step on the brake just after I popped the clutch. This helped so much with getting the tires real hot! I know I've run in the 7's before on a 1/4 mile track, but all strips are a little different. I was very happy about my launches and times. The LS2 Corvettes were running 8.4s, so I felt pretty good--especially when the vette owners were coming up to my car and noticing my baby seat still strapped in the back. I met a kid with a fully modified Dinan 330i that kept wanting to race me. He kept asking and asking so we did. It's the first 2 slips in the pic. It was pretty close. Here's what I had: -Aproximately 95 Octane -Nitto 555R drag radials on 17 pound wheels. -Procede V3 -AA Intercooler -RPI Scoops with Helene Performance Air Filter -UR Catless DPs with High Flow Cats in the Place of the Secondaries -Borla Single Rear Muffler -Braille Auto 17 Pound Lightweight Battery -Graco Baby Seat I need to change my sig to 8.19 at 87.43 MPH.

Who wants to take bets on how long it takes Terry to post a 8.18 at 87.44 MPH?
Congrats man, it sounds like you got what you wanted from your mods. And you have some launching skill, too! |

I disagree.
Good tires and automatic. IMO, it's much easier to launch an automatic if you know what you're doing.

Ohh, you're correct.
That wasn't with the V3.

So Mr 5, having gone through many tunes now, do you find V3 to have both the performance and problem-free characteristics you were looking for?

What were your 1/8 mile traps at Famosa? My quickest was 7.792 sec. My highest was over 91mph. I would like to make it to Irwindale sometime, but I can't make it at all on weekdays.

welll done....do you think you could have had 60 fts in the 1.7's w/ more aggressive launches or were the tires just not up to it?

They startet paring us up with the pro guys.
I think the first one was a VW with wheelie bars and the second was an old school Camaro. I believe the fastest of the night was a mustang--5.46 at 137 mph. Quote:
I was just glad that I was consistent. I'm sure I could get into the 1.7s 60 foots. I've done it before so I know it's possible.
