E92 heated mirrors
Looking for some help/advice
My heated mirrors don't seem to be working, I've tried every combination of the auto wipers on along with rear heater window heated seats etc, but to no avail they're 100% not heating Temperature requirements also met as it was -3 last night when I was trying to see if they were working Is the heating of the mirrors on it's own circuit so it could potentially be a fuse? Every other function for the mirrors works totally fine I coded out my headlight washers as I was fed up of replacing them so just wondering if that could have an effect if they're interlinked? If I can't find a blown fuse and recoding in the washers doesn't work apart from trying to replace the glass is there anything else to check? Any modules etc and how can you tell if the wing mirrors are electrochromatic? Is it just a case of removing the glass n see what connectors are on the back? Thanks in advance |

Headlight washers have nothing to do with the mirror heaters, they automatically turn on when the temps are low.
Probably a wire gone bad, try disassembling them |

I believe when you put on your heated rear screen that should heat the mirrors as well, disconnect the mirror & see if there is any power going to the mirror when turned on, If there is, Then mirror heater nit working.

outside mirror heating in e9x e8x is not bound to rear glass heating
this question is bumped on many forums and article from TIS is published as answer in short mirror heating is enaled depending on outside temperature and rain sensor and windshield wiper function usage when outside temp is below 0C the heating is activated even if rainsensor or wipers is not enabled easiest way to check is to put car in warm garage or paring, let mirror housing warm to room temperature(otherwise you'll damage mirror glass or mirror when you remove glasses), gently remove mirrors and check if heating wires firmly connected to glasses and the resistance of the mirrors heating circuit is same

What should the resistance be? I've got a multimeter but not overly sure how to check if there's an issue or not It's the fact that both aren't working that baffles me. What's the chances both aren't connected properly? That's what makes me think has to be fuse related or wiring damaged |

I'm not sure what the resistance should be, when you turn them on, There should be some current going through.
Still check the fuse & make sure they are actually connect to the mirrors. If its the wires, I think they run to the electric windows & mirrors switch. |

Just to answer the electrochroamatic Q, mine has got that option I believe its as simple as if there is a black plastic frame around the outside edge of the mirror glass then they are.
