N54 manual transmission to dct swap from M3

Hello guys i am very interested of installing DCT transmission on my 335i but it's really difficult to find one from 335is, so my question is that if someone knows is the m3 e90 transmission the same like the 335is one. I saw that the code is the same gs7d36sg but the part number is different. I will be really glad if someone knows an give me some answers. And if its possible to swap from e90 m3 what parts also i need except the gearbox to swap it

The only difference externally between the 335is and M3 DCT is the ports for the cooling system on the M3. Internally its the software. You can use either one BUT if you use the M3 software you'll need to use the M3 GWS with supporting trim and pieces and a final drive ratio close to the M3 DCT of 3.15. If you use a 335is DCT you'll need the non M GWS and final drive close to the 2.56 of the 335is.

With that said, you can flash non M or M3 software onto the DCT regardless of which vehicle it came from as long as the supporting hardware matches the software.

Okay because it's easier to find an m3 gearbox instead 335is. Do you thing it's possible to use this transmission with the 335is DCT Gear selector Sport because i don't like the m3 once. This one from the picture above.

Yes you could. You would need to flash the DCT with 335is software after it's installed and you'd use the 335is GWS with the 335is DCT harness so the connectors would be correct. I happen to have a full set of 335is interior trim and 335is DCT knob/boot/base plate if you need it.

Is the N55 DCT used in all RHD 335i 2010-2013 different to the DCT used in the N54 335is cars?

If not getting a DCT from the UK may be an option for you?

Same trans is in all non M E series DCT cars. That includes the 135i too.

Okay my final last question is about the Ecu my car has msd80 simens and i am not sure it is going to connect properly with this transmission because the 335is is using msd81 and the m3 has also different. So what do you think should i try with the msd80 or I should go for msd81 ?

I can't give you a definite answer on that but I would upgrade to 81 anyways. It certainly can't hurt and would probably be better in the long run.
