JB2 FTW!!

Well I got my ECU checked and my JB2 installed today.....however I have some bad news....I have the stupid DMEv81

Kyle your the man thanks for installing the JB2.

So I was only able to install the JB2 w/o the H Pill.

As far as the drive it is so much better than stock. For example, when I'm in

DS Mode first gear and second were always super jerky and now its just so much smoother. It's INSANE. The power increase is modest but I already want more. The power is very good up all through the power band.

But a strange thing happend as soon as it was finished being installed I left (from kyle's house = E90AW335I) I went WOT and it was sweet up until it switch into 4th gear and all of a sudden there was just a sudden drop.

It's hard to explain but it felt like the turbo's had spun to the max and like took a brake then started to spin again. Anyways it hasnt happend again so I'm assuming it was still adapting.

Can't wait for JB3 and I'm so mad that i have the DMEv81. Out the window with DP's and mega power and torque. I guess my only performance mod options currently are a full exhaust, and dual cone intake.

If the AF looms are connected, the JB2 is visible to v81.

No it does hide itself if you leave the blue and green loom off. However, the car will run a bit less power and I am now limited by me DMEv81 somewhat as my torque values cannot go to high in a certain RPM or else I'll throw codes, Is that right?

No this was a succesful mod. IT IS UNDECTABLE. I'm just venting my fustration on the fac that I have a DMEv81. Which will limit the amount of performance modifications I can do.

Congrats! Jb2 is still a safe and powerful option for v81 users... Just leave off the fueling looms! You get a bit less power with v81, but its still the best price to horsepower ratio out there!

Thanks for the positive review!

Geez, I am off the board for one night and people go ape shit over one persons mods. Look, I installed the JB2 for him so obviously I did it right. This means I left the fuel looms off so that it would be undetectable.

Everyone needs to cool it with this warranty gone shit, it is getting really really old. Especially coming from a couple of you guys who know nothing about this car or how the warranty gone code comes about.

Lets do this, stick to what you actually understand and dont make stupid comments about other peoples mods.

To the OP, I am glad you are enjoying you car. Dont worry with all this warranty talk, you and I know we installed it correctly since we were there. Best of luck with everything and let me know when you are ready to install the next mods!

I doubt they changed your DME... but its written on the sticker (frontside of the DME).
if they install vers 29.2 you would see it on your bill (Progman update)

You can put the JB2 in regardless of what version progman, or ECU you have. If you have v81 or 29.2 you dont hook up the fuel looms.

Should be no problem determining which performance mods you should install. Just ask yourself the following:

WWJD?

You would probably notice the boost lag immediately. The majority of people updated with 29.2 or higher complain of the lag.
